REVIEW:

How I love a package being delivered with my name on it, especially when the name of the sender is Bluebasil Brownies……I have been lucky enough to receive one of their boxes of brownies before, you can read my review and my chocolatey experiences here: Chocolate Heaven! Bluebasil Gourmet Brownies ~ Review and Giveawayand the experience was just the same this time, the anticipation of opening that lovely brown box tied with old-fashioned string, the intoxicating aroma of  rich chocolate, the swathes of tissue paper, and then the ultimate tease of glimpsing that  first chocolate brownie, before pulling away all of the paper that the brownies are nestled so seductively in. The little tags attached to the box wished me a Merry Christmas, and indeed I DID feel like a small child on Christmas morn’, with a delicious chocolatey contraband waiting to be devoured in the dark quiet of the Christmas bedroom. I didn’t actually open my brownies in bed, but, what an amazing gift it would be for someone if they did! As ever, Bluebasil brownies come with a personal notes and an ingredients list, and just to tease you all even more, here’s what the lovely Laura and Nikki sent me this time:

Dark Orange & Ginger, Coffee & Irish Cream, Rudolph’s Rumnut and Classic chunky chocolate

Chocolate Heaven for Christmas! Bluebasil Gourmet Brownies ~ Review and Giveaway

And my tasting notes? Just read below how GORGEOUSLY decadent and DELICIOUSLY moreish these lush chocolate brownies are, or should I say were, as they have all gone now!

Lavender and Lovage Tasting Notes for Bluebasil  Christmas Brownies:

We are proud winners of the Great Taste Award for our Cardamom brownie 2011, Hazelnut brownie 2012 and Classic Chunky Chocolate brownie 2012

* Dark Orange and Ginger – rich chocolate taste with chunks of orange and ginger giving an occasional taste of orange and ginger, good velvety almost fudge-like texture.

* Coffee & Irish cream – mellow creamy coffee flavour with an Irish cream after taste, nice but steer clear if not a fan of coffee in chocolate, as coffee is evident but FAB for coffee lovers!

* Rudolph’s Rumnut – smooth rum and chocolate flavour, topped with nutty flakes, slightly creamy and very festive, I donned a red nose to eat them – to get in the boozy festive mood!

* Classic Chunky Chocolate – rich creamy chocolate full of chunks of milk chocolate, a classic rich fudge brownie of the highest pedigree!

All brownies smooth and truffle like, with a crisp topping……conclusion: Très Lush!

”Overall Conclusion: As I said in my last review, Bluebasil Gourmet Brownies are quite simply the best brownies I have ever tasted, and many a brownie as passed my lips over the years.  A box of these brownies would make a delightful present for a loved one or a friend for Christmas or any other special occasion, and just one bite transports you (or your lucky recipients) to chocolate heaven. It’s obvious that the tag of “Gourmet” in the company’s name is well justified, and the beautiful and unique packaging adds a touch of luxury.  They are simply the best and Très Très Lush!”
