The Magic and Eco Friendly
When Mumsnet contacted me recently and asked if I was interested in receiving and reviewing the Trolley-Dolly shopping bag I eagerly agreed, as I have major issues when I am shopping in supermarkets with bags or rather the lack of them! Plus, I am keen to be eco-friendly and so many shops do not offer plastic bags any more, so this seemed a wonderfully innovative idea.
I will post my review findings further on, but for now, do watch this amazing little video about JUST how handy the Trolley-Dolly is for busy mums and other shoppers, as introduced by Zoe, the inventor.
The Trolley-Dolly comes in various funky, fun colours and I received the pretty and brightly coloured Poppy Dots, as seen above ~ a vibrant and eye-catching blue with poppy red polka dots ~ I am known to be a bit dotty and so this pattern fits me!
The bag contains several net fruit and vegetable bags and strong roomy nylon bags inside, as well as a keyring and trolley token to comprise:
Here’s my thoughts and review on my first Trolley-Dolly shopping experience:
Overall looks and features:
The Trolley-Dolly bag is compact, appears to be heard wearing with a strong, waterproof exterior and is very attractive. I liked the pockets and pouches for storing keys, shopping lists, purse and wallet as well as a mobile phone. The addition of an attached keyring with trolley token was a very handy feature, as I am always losing keys as well as my trolley tokens! I was pleased to discover that the bag is fully washable, which is a handy and practical feature. The overall appearance is fun and modern, who says that being eco-friendly has to be dull and boring!
Ease of use:
I was keen to put my Trolley-Dolly into use, so I took it out for a big weekly shop, mainly to test its claims of strength and practicality to the limit. It was easy to clip over the trolley handle and I could also see my shopping list through the clear plastic pocket, which was handy I decided to leave my handbag at home and popped my wallet and purse into the inside pocket; my store cards also slotted into the inside pockets for ease of access at the till. There is a special mobile phone pocket on the side, so I was fully armed for a big weekly shop! The net bags for fruit and vegetables were brilliant ~ and it was so easy to pop everything with no risk of a “burst” thin plastic bag, as usually happens! At the till, I removed all my bags from inside ready for packing, and was amazed how strong and roomy they all were……I managed to pack all of my shopping in to the bags and that included 6 bottles of wine and a large bottle of fabric conditioner. The bags are colour coded, to make it easier to unpack at home ~ I am not sure if I would have time to adhere to that if busy and flustered, but I managed to colour code my packing this time! I LOVED the convenience of the inside pockets/pouches where my loyalty cards and wallet was safely secured, which meant NO large swinging handbag knocking everyone out at the till area, as normally happens when I am shopping solo! I also liked the long handles on some of the nylon bags, meaning I was able to tie them up and keep loose items safe from rolling out in the back of the car. On unpacking my shopping at home, the bags are easily pushed back into the outer Trolley-Dolly bag.
Overall Product Review:
FABULOUS! When you are sent items to use and review, it can be tricky to write an honest and helpful review if you are not keen on them; the Trolley-Dolly bag on the other hand was brilliant and I was delighted to be given the opportunity to test it. If I may be so bold, it doesn’t surprise me that a busy mum of three designed it, as it’s extremely practical with a myriad of useful features as well as being funky and fun to look at. I loved how compact it was and I was happy to ditch my handbag and put all of my bits and bobs inside the Trolley-Dolly bag, including my mobile phone……like I said, to be “handbag free” when shopping is a liberating experience! The bag comes in several patterns and colours and retails at £29.95. I think this represents quite good value given that there are 20 bags inside as well as the bag itself, which is well designed. Some of the newer designs also come with Pizza box size bags, wash and store fridge friendly fruit and veg bags and a bottle bag that holds up to 8 bottles of wine. You can buy a bag HERE as well as read more about this amazing product. I wholeheartedly endorse this Ab Fab bag for its looks as well as its obvious practical use, and I ‘ve decided to buy a couple as gifts for my mum and sister this Christmas, as they keep wanting to “borrow” mine all the time!
