A Few of My Favourite Things……
Heron Cross Pottery Cat Milk/Cream Jug |
Whilst you are reading this, I will be travelling from France to the UK via car and ferry….and then by train and bus; I like to get as many forms of transport under my travelling belt as possible, except flying, which I hate…..but that’s a rather strange tale to tell some other time. I was going to post a recipe, something that I made over the Festive period, but then I got engrossed in snapping photos around the house (I got a new lens for my camera from Santa this year) and thought it would be nice to share a few of my favourite things…….
…….as well as for displaying freshly cut flowers from the garden, or for keeping herbs and celery fresh in the kitchen. At this time of year, all my bits and pieces of blue and white have been extensively used for Christmas buffets and teas….for cakes, sausage rolls, cheese scones, sandwiches, biscuits, smoked salmon, cold hams and pickles….for tea, coffee and tisanes….
A large Cheese Dome, perfect for a large wedge of Cheddar
I’ll have to leave you now, there are bags to be packed and phones to be charged etc. Plus, I need to find my flask for hot beverages en route. See you later……here’s hoping for a smooth crossing across the Channel!

Wow! we have another thing in common:)
I always loved the blue and white china.
I have Blue Willow design for my good China.
My Mother actually found the whole set of dinnerware at a yard sale!
Safe journey home!
Lovely having a wee sneaky peek inside your French home ;0)
Happy travels and safe journies Karen. I have long held a love affair with blue and white china anything. It is my favourite thing of all on this earth. Sadly cannot afford any of it really, so I just admire from afar. xxoo
Karen, I am sooo jealous of the lovely blue crockery!!! Makes me think of my one granny, who had this type of porcelain. I have no idea what became of it — and you're showing how lovely these old patterns are.
Love the cheese dome Karen! I really need more vintage crockery…..
Beautiful things… just the way i picture your things.
Travel safe, enjoy luggung bags from transport to transport, always my favorite part of multi part travel.

Hopefully you've arrived safe and sound by now Karen. That's the trouble with being 12,000 miles away…I'm always a little out of sync.
But you do sound like you’re on military manoeuvres when you travel and obviously have it all organised to perfection.
I love all crockery especially china and even yesterday found myself in an antique shop drooling over some vintage platters. My daughter was with me at the time and strongly commented on just how many pieces of crockery does a person need? What a question!
I walked away at the time but I could find myself wandering back that way some time after her visit…You understand don’t you??? ;D

Hope your journey was as smooth as possible was looking across the channel yesterday and there were plenty of white horses out there. I love your blue and white china especially your planter and cheese dome.
I tried to comment yesterday, but I was reading your blog from my iPhone at the optometrist's office and, for some reason, it wouldn't let me comment!
Anyway, I just wanted to say I love blue and white china, as well. I use mine all the time. After all, I didn't buy them to sit in a cabinet and collect dust! 🙂
