Meal Planning Monday for the St George’s Day Week
23rd April 2012
Fish, Bangers and Fruit!
Welcome to my first Meal Planning Monday post! Now, I am normally a “cook by the seat of my pants” kind of cook…….I KNOW what I have available in the pantry and freezer, and I know what posts and ingredients I want to write about on my blog – so there is some sort of meal planning going on in my head, but I am also a bit of a rebel, and I hate being spoon fed into making decisions at home and like the freedom to change my mind. I also like the opportunity of being frivolous now and then, and saying “let’s go out to eat”, so although this meal plan may be good today and maybe even tomorrow, please be aware that I may have changed my mind by Thursday, but I am posting this anyway, as I’m REALLY going to try to be more organised in the kitchen this week…….just watch this space! So, here is my intended meal plan for this week:

Weekend of 28th April to 29th April:
We have several dinner invitations, and also I am treating my mum to a VERY belated Cream Tea at a local Tea Room, so the menu is VERY flexible for the weekend, but, I will report back with any new ideas, recipes and photos of tea room cream tea treats!
That’s it for my FIRST meal plan, and I feel quite liberated now, as if I get stuck for ideas, I can follow my own meal plan…….probably! See you later and Happy St George’s Day to my English readers, go forth and slay a few dragons! Karen
Wow, what a great meal plan, so glad you are taking part as I am totally inspired by this.
Cheesy scrambled eggs and the sausage onion and potato bake looks amazing!
x
Thanks Nelly! I need to get more organised and this was a great way to start!
Love all the foods on your meal plan Karen. Might give this a go. Certainly will try the breakfasts, love the sound of them all and a great variety. I tend to get stuck in a groove with breakfast having porridge for a while then toast and so on.
I agree Keg-Meg – by planning my week’s menu,it made me think of a variety of breakfasts to have, and not just toast and porridge as you said!
Ohh – I’m coming over for the week! what a great line up! super British dishes 🙂

Thanks so much Jen! All my blogger friends are always welcome here! LOL! Karen
Great meal plan. I would make your job easier: Porridge every day, please! 🙂 I just love it and really we have it every day. Never get tiered or bored of it.
Thanks Marina, I am also a BIG porridge lover, we have it frequently, but with having hens, we also have eggs a lot too! Karen
This is very inspiring Karen. Like you, I do not like to feel as though my plans are set in stone. I have a massive craving for chips like yours now – they look incredible!
Thanks Charlotte! I am a bit of a free spirit when it comes to meal planning, but thus far, I am right on the money with this plan! 🙂
Karen I’m moving in!! Love the meals you’ve planned for the week – everything looks amazing!
LOL! Thanks Ros……I can be organised when I take time to plan!
