Simple Chilli (Chili)
from Food Babbles
It’s that time of the month again, time to reveal my Secret Recipe blog, and this month I was lucky enough to be given a new blog that I have never heard of until now called Food Babbles! I love what Food Babbles has to say about herself, and to introduce her to you, I am copying what she says about herself bellow:
There were lots of recipes I could have picked to make from Food Babbles lovely blog……and I loved the look of several baked goodies, but I am trying to be good and keep the cakes and bakes to a minimum right now……so, I thought that a great dish to make, given all the cold and unseasonal weather we have been having, was a comforting and SIMPLE Chilli (Chili). And, luckily there was a great recipe on her blog……and it’s called Simple Chilli too……I liked the fact that the meat used in this recipe is turkey mince, again, it keeps the calories down and is healthy and low in fat; the spices and seasonings looked spot on, I remember adding oregano to a chilli recipe when I lived in the States, so this recipe was made and devoured one cold April evening, although I did manage to nip out and take a photo whilst the sun was out, briefly!
You can find her recipe here: Simple Chili it is a GREAT recipe and I LOVE the spice mixture of paprika, oregano, chilli powder, ground cumin and cayenne pepper; the minced turkey makes this chilli lighter than the usual beef version and I loved the sour cream and cheese topping……Food Babbles served her chilli with baguette, (see her photo below) and next time I’ll serve mine with a few slices of crusty bread I think……for dunking and bowl wiping!
Once again, The Secret Recipe Club has introduced me to a new blog and a new blogging friend……and, if you fancy making muffins, Food Babbles has some GREAT muffin recipes that she makes and shares every Monday, that you can find her recipes here: Muffins. And, if the weather continues to be cold and wet, grab her recipe and make yourself a pot of steaming hot Chilli, great comfort food! That’s it for today, I will be back later with an AMAZING Giveaway and a Berry Beautiful British Berries Fruity Event……see you later, Karen.
I served my chilli with some Spicy Baked Chips, recipe to follow soon…..
