Barbecues, Berries and Salads
More Meal Planning Monday
I am late again, another late meal plan for Monday…….I know, I know……but I do have a valid excuse – I have been a bit under the weather lately and in the evenings, when I am usually to be found slaving away over a hot keyboard whilst occasionally slurping the odd glass of sherbet (wine!) I have taken to my bed early and have been pushing out the zzzzzzzzz’s. So, today has been a game of catch up, and I almost forgot my meal plan until this afternoon, as I was in the garden, sunning myself…….I DO have some ideas and recipes already planned however, and even if today is nearly over for “wining and dining”, well for most people in the UK and Europe, I hope the recipes I am sharing for my meal plan today may serve as some inspiration for the rest of the week to come. The title is a clue…..and I have to admit to having been VERY up close and personal with my Barbecue over the weekend…in fact I have been trying to develop a “non messy barbecued eggs” recipe, but the eggs kept falling through the grill……..but seriously, my BBQ, as it shall henceforth be known, HAS been dusted off and HAS been fired up (notice the technical term there!) several times and what bliss it is for a non messy kitchen, as well as being healthier too, as the fat from meat drains off through the grill. I have had fish on there, bangers have been “chucked” on and I also did some GREAT jacket potatoes the other day too…….it can be said, that I HAVE embraced my masculine, hunter/gatherer side, and I can now be seen coaxing charcoal into life, in the manner of most blokes who gather around that sacred of cooking machines during the summer – I may even need to buy one of those rude “boobs” aprons to complete the happy picture. But, I digress here, and so with a puff of smoke and a charred sausage, here is my Meal Plan for Monday, with thanks to Mrs M who hosts this blog event on her site.

I am not a huge fan of eggs but your scotch eggs look lovely! Ditto the salmon – I use a similar recipe and it’s so easy and delicious.
Thanks Lauren! That salmon recipe has been made twice in a week now…..such a great recipe!
