Win an Eric Lanlard Hamper with Silver Spoon & Macmillan Cancer Support
AND
My Recipe in The Little Book of Treats
I am proud to be able to tell you all that I will be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support in THREE ways this year – firstly, and most excitingly, one of my recipes is being published The Little Book of Treats, which, is being sold in ALL M & S cafés in support of Macmillan Cancer Support and just in time for the annual ‘Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning‘ run by Macmillan Cancer Support, which is on the 28th September this year.
Secondly, I am promoting a fantastic competition; on the 24th August 2012 Silver Spoon and Macmillan are launching Silver Spoons Little Local Hero Awards. They are scouring the country for local heroes under the age of 18 who have done something truly special. Your local little hero could have looked after their little sister when they were ill, gone to great lengths to make Mother’s Day very special, or done something fantastic to raise money for charity. If you know someone under 18 in your local area who you think would be a worthy winner, just follow this link and explain in less than 100 words who you are nominating, why, and what you would bake them to say thank you…….
(Competition closes 20th Sep at 23:59 BST)
Master Pâtissier Eric Lanlard, star of Channel 4’s Baking Mad with Eric Lanlard, will choose a Silver Spoon National Little Hero and to celebrate he will bake them a special cake of their choice! 10 runners-up will also receive a Silver Spoon Baking Hamper packed full of exciting treats……….
There are sure to be some amazing stories from our local little heroes all over the country, but in the meantime don’t forget to register to hold your own coffee morning on the 28th September, just follow this link and you can help to raise money for people with lives affected by cancer: Register to Host a Coffee Morning. And, as you can see, that LITTLE book is included in the contents of one of the winning hampers too….
…..and you can also see that I am amongst GOOD company, the above photo shows the inside cover of The Little Book of Treats, and there I am amongst Janet Jackson, Joanna Lumley, Fearne Cotton, The Fabulous Baker Brothers, Stephen Fry, Amanda Holden, Antonio Carluccio and many more BIG names! BUT, even nicer for me, is that I am listed JUST underneath another mega baker, and a VERY good friend of mine, and that’s Sue from A Little Bit of Heaven on a Plate.….she ALSO has one of her recipes published on the book and you can read all about it here in her blog post about the book and the Macmillan Coffee Morning: Proud to be helping Macmillan Cancer Support. My good friend of many years, Nic from Cherrapeno also has a recipe in the book too….
And thirdly, I am also going to organise my OWN coffee morning on the 28th, with a raffle and some home-baked treats for all to buy and enjoy……and one of the recipes I am going to make, is MY own recipe from The Little Book of Treats of course, and NO, I am not telling you which recipe it is yet, but suffice to say that I am also very proud to tell you that it’s my recipe that is featured on the FRONT page of the book too, so that is a little clue for all of you!
The amazing thing about this little book, is that you can ALL help Macmillan Cancer Support, whether you are having a coffee morning or not, as this book will be on sale in all M & S Cafés for ONLY £4 and ALL the proceeds go to charity, plus you get to see WHICH recipes were published by Sue and me too! And, as Sue said in her post, if you do buy one and you bump into me or her, we’ll even sign your copy for you – how’s that for a DEAL!!!
So, PLEASE PLEASE suport this GREAT cause, I am sure all of us have been affected by cancer in some way within our families, and maybe with some of our friends too….you can: Buy the book, Host or attend a coffee morning, enter the Eric Lanlard Hamper with Silver Spoon & Macmillan Cancer Support contest above or even make a donation here: Donate OR you can buy some LOVELY gifts from their store here: Shop
If you would like to donate a raffle prize or make some cakes for the coffee morning, I would love to hear from you…………..nothing is too small!
I will be posting a Guest Book on my blog after the 28th September, and all who donated or who attended the coffee morning will be mentioned!
