I am a Fish Fanatic as you all know, and we eat fish and seafood at least three times a week in our house……..and by far the BEST fish and seafood that I have tasted, is the fish and seafood that John supplies from Delish Fish in Peterhead in Scotland. The service that John provides is second to none; you choose your fish or seafood on-line at his website Delish Fish, and then it is sent directly to you, door to door, and all beautifully packed in a special box with coolants and bubble wrap to keep it absolutely fresh. To celebrate the BBQ season, John has very kindly offered me a FABULOUS box of fresh fish suitable for barbecuing, worth £65 and delivered to your door for free.
To celebrate the fish BBQ season, I will be sharing some NEW fish recipes that are suitable for the BBQ and my first recipe will be posted later today, and is a fabulous recipe using fresh SALMON – so look out for my BBQ Salmon Fillets in a Parcel with Prawns, Chilli, Garlic and Lime recipe…….HERE!
Best Fish for the BBQ: The best fish for barbecuing are those with oily flesh such as mackerel, sardines and herrings. Apart from the fact that the flesh does not often break up, there is also the delicious effect that smoke has on oily fish. Other fish that is perfect for the BBQ is meaty fish such as cod steaks, salmon steaks, tuna fish, monkfish, halibut, sea bass or sea bream and any other meaty white fish with skin on. Seafood such as scallops and prawns also make a tasty additions to the barbecue as they are great cooked on skewers over hot coals……I often make seafood kebabs with cherry tomatoes and peppers, and they are delectable! Another handy way to barbecue fish is to cook the fish in foil parcels, this way the fish is kept moist and any added marinade or vegetables cooks along with the fish without falling through the BBQ grill!
This Great British BBQ Fish Giveaway will run for TWO weeks! What will you cook if you win? What will you cook on your BBQ if you win this box of fish…….a salmon steak in a foil parcel? Or many some WONDERFUL seafood kebabs? Or maybe you fancy cooking some lovely cod steaks over the coals, and then serve them with a caper and olive oil sauce…..or, perhaps some delicious kippers will be your chosen fish for the barbie! You have to ENTER to WIN though, and all you need to do to enter is choose one or all of the entry options below, each entry carries points and the more points you gain, the MORE ENTRIES you have which increases your chances of winning!
