There was one item which sticks in my mind during the war, sometimes potatoes were scrubbed clean, peeled thicker than usual, the peelings were cut to smaller pieces, fried, dipped in a sugar and cinnamon mix straight from the pan and eaten when cold. I am sure I remember them being very tasty at Christmas….
