My Mum used to dip thick spam slices in batter then deep fry them and they were delicious. I do miss them now because having to cut fat from my diet means no deep frying BUT spam is still delicious in salads and on sandwiches.

My mum was the one to eat spam when the family were young. Spam sandwiches. Though I have heard of people making spam fritters, by coating spam in batter and frying it. The Spam prize looks wonderful for the summer.

Mum always used to slice up the Spam and put a slice of cheese and slice of tomato on the top of it. It then went on top of a piece of toast and under the grill until the cheese and tomato started to bubble. It was delicious!
My son, who is always a hungry teenager, dices Spam and stir fries it with onions, peppers and Uncle Ben’s rice for a ” in between meal”, snack.:D

sorry, I was brought up in New Zealand and I had never heard of SPAM until 20 years ago when I shifted to the UK.
However, my husband informs me his Mum only ever gave him SPAM cold in a sandwich or with a salad.
I like fried spam sandwiches 🙂 Cutting it up and dropping it onto a frying egg sounds pretty interesting too… 🙂
All I remember are SPAM fritters from school dinners.

Oh my! We had spam a lot when I was little. Mum put it in sandwiches, deep fried it with batter and sometimes we just had it sliced for dinner with an assortment of salad, cheese and boiled eggs.

Mum had a shop so several elderly neighbours used to “mind” me for an hour each afternoon. One was called Mrs Fox and she had a moustache (I was terrified of kissing her!). She used to cook what she called “Spam Ash” for Mr Fox’s tea. I thought it was made with Spam and fire ashes (it was the 1950’s). I was about 20 when I realised it was a sort of stew – Spam Hash.
We used to have Spam and brown sauce sandwiches every saturday tea! <3

My mum never used to use spam but I remember my nan chopping it up and frying it with onions to go on top of our Saturday burgers! It was always just a little but crispy and the oily onions just made it a taste sensation! When I make sausages and mash now, I always fry some onions and add in some diced spam. Really tasty and hearty home food, especially now the winter months are approaching!
