For a limited time only, I am delighted to offer all Lavender and Lovage readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to the Goodwood Revival, which is SOLD OUT! The prize for these two tickets is courtesy of Davidstow Cheddar in Cornwall and the winner must be able to attend on Friday 13th September 2013.
As you can guess, Davidstow Cheddar is made in a town called Davidstow on the west coast of Cornwall. As winner of numerous prestigious awards, Davidstow have been making their highest quality cheddars for over 60 years. using wonderfully rich milk from local farms. Cornwall’s gentle, year-round rainfall and long days of sunshine make it perfect dairy country, which helps to give Davidstow Cheddar a delicious richness of flavour. Davidstow cheddars are typically matured for longer than other cheddars, producing a signature depth & complexity of flavours and textures, and with a distinctive creamy character, we’re sure you’ll agree that it is simply mouth-watering. Perfect for home-made meals or enjoying on its own with a glass of good wine.
- Davidstow Cornish Classic Mature cheddar is matured for 12 months to perfectly balance the rich smooth texture with a deep, lingering creamy flavour.
- Davidstow Cornish Crackler Extra Mature Cheddar, is intensely indulgent, typically matured for at least 18 months for added complexity and concentrated bursts of flavour.
- 3 Year Reserve is truly the pinnacle of the Davidstow range, as the name suggests, this exquisite addition is matured for at least 3 years. Taking its time to mature and develop a deep combination of rich and creamy flavours and a crumbly, flinty texture. This is the ultimate cheddar in the Davidstow collection and boasts an unrivalled taste experience.

I just love the 60’s, the dresses and music were amazing – even though well before my time, would have been a great time to have been a teenager!
I love the 50s. The narrow waists and flared skirts are very flattering! And the sense of optimism after the war I think is appealling.
I love the 60s loved the full skirts, I remember making one with a poodle on the front and loads of underskirts to make it stand out! Happy days:)
A magical step back in time and a unique chance to revel in the glamour of motor racing at the world’s most authentic circuit.
The 60’s clothes look fun!
Definitely the 60’s – A defining era for England!
I love the 40s clothing and the 60s for music 🙂
I like the 40s clothing – old school glamour!
The 40’s. The world opened up in the 40’s. Although the WW2 was brutal people made the most of it. Stylish dress and good music.
Cultures mixed far quicker and created a fantastic decade.
Its all about the swining 60’s! hippie looks and mod culture love!
swining 60’s music and 40’s classy fashion!
I was a child of the 60’s so that era is close to my heart. The dawn of the mini dress was very daring and us girls got to show off our pins! I vividly remember the Biba store in London and they also produced a gorgeous catalogue – from which my first Biba dress was purchased. Wimpy Bars began to appear – the very first burger joints to be seen in the UK – a great place to hang out. A mention too, to probably the most iconic car of all time – the Mini. Still going strong today and still a very desirable car 🙂
50’s my hubbie is a teddyboy and he is hot
50’s!
got to be the 60’s – the clothes and music where amazing !
Definitely the swinging sixties! Music, the clothes, the hippies! Would have loved to hav lived through it!
I have to admit to being fascinated by the 40’s. The girls seemed to look so glamourous despite their limited funds and the fortitude and spirit they showed should be an inspiration to us all. I am also fascinated by their recipes – it is true that necessity really is the mother of invention!
I love the 1950s as Doris Day is my Idol.
I just love the 60′s
The 60’s – great cars, great music, great fashion 🙂
Would love to go to the Revival and relive the 60’s
stiff upper lip and all that – 40’s for me.

I love the 60’s because I was born in this era loved the music, TV programmes, fashion, food and the slower pace of life every thing these days is to commercialized and busy
Loved the 60s with all those underskirts and they way they flared out as we jived
I love the 60’s. I was too young to enjoy it properly 😉
I love the 40s – so much style!
Loved the 60’s. Great music, wonderful fashion. Anything seemed possible and in a strange way a time of innocence.
The 60’s for Jean Shrimpton, Twiggy and Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s; glamourous and cool!
I love the 60s I am old enough to remember but not too old to have spent the era in a haze! Always love the music and the fashions
DEFINITELY the 50s. I’ve just made myself a 1950s inspired dress with net petticoat and I really want to showcase it in the most prestigious arena at Goodwood, amid the cars and clothes.
Born in the 50s, grew up in the 60s but the 40s had style.
it’s got to be the 50’s for the clothes and the hair 🙂

60’s. Great clothes.
Wow..what an amazing prize! It would have to be the 1950s. I would love the chance to wear a beautiful flared dress and style my hair into a glamorous style…red lipstick to complete! I love old cars and have wanted to attend the Goodwood Revival for ages!!!
The 60’s is quite cool, hey?
Definitely the 60’s because:
the music was inspirational, especially The Beatles
the clothes were risque, but so imaginative
From a previously repressed decade, suddenly it was as if people had a new lease of life and freedom and were able to explore areas they had never dared explore before.
40’s because the design of the Supermarine Spitfire is truly beautiful and amazing
The 40’s are my fave, especially the dresses worn by stars such as Ingrid Bergman in ‘Casablanca’ – war time chic is so sharp and ultra cool…although it took years before my Gran explained that not all dresses from the era were black, white or various shades of grey 😉 The contast with the red lipstick was exquisite. God…I really love those old B&W movies!!
60’s because I love the idea of swinging london. The clothes, the music and the cars
60’s I love the full circle skirt and flirty make up
I just love the seventies, the music the clothes, brilliant, baby !!
I love the 60’s as that’s when i was born and there was some really fabulous music around at the time.
Has to be the 40’s, for the outfits, the style!
I love the 40’s for the style & culture (fashion, decor, films, manners etc) and the pure grit and determination of the people.
