Bettys Royal Iced Wreath Christmas Cake has been featured in S magazine’s ‘Christmas Winners’ taste test – November 2013 as well as Country Homes & Interiors and Period Ideas “Festive Dining Inspirations” piece and I have to say it is a bit of a Downton Abbey kind of cake! Thanks Jean, sorry this is not open to US residents – Bettys DO ship to the US but they could not offer that facility as a prize! The cake is about 7″ in diameter and 4″ in height and weighs 2.2 lbs!

ooh dear i sing them all depending on my mood. if i’m feeling dramatic i sing’ minuit chretians, c’est l’heure solonnelle’, cheery it is ‘ding dong merrily on high’ but my favourite is silent night which i try to sing in the german i learned years ago in school because it sounds so much more atmospheric as ‘stille nacht, heilige nacht’.
