Great wines to support great causes:

Piggy Bank Wine
Piggy Bank launched in August 2012 and has since raised over £30,000 for charitable causes.
For every bottle sold, 50p goes into the charity ‘Piggy Bank’. When it’s full (it holds £10,000) the funds are distributed proportionally between three charities, according to the votes of consumers.
What’s interesting is that consumers choose where the donation goes by voting for their preferred good cause on their mobile, on Facebook or at www.piggybankwine.com.
The 4th UK “Piggy Bank” is now over half full! The charities in the running are:
Meningitis UK (www.meningitisuk.org)
RNLI (www.rnli.org)
Wateraid (www.wateraid.org)
“It is incredibly satisfying to have already raised more than £30,000 for good causes,” says Guy Anderson, CEO. “Consumers seem to have positively welcomed our initiative and the wines are going down well, judging by the sales here and in the USA!”
The Wines:
Piggy Bank produces a range of great wines that are lovingly crafted by our award-winning winemakers :

I’d donate to the RNLI as the volunteers do such amazing work.
I would donate it to the Red Cross Typhoon Haiyan Appeal. Easy.
Oops Sorry – I didn’t read it correctly – obviously not to a charity of my choice!!! Out of the selected list I would donate it to WaterAid 🙂
this is a tough one for me to answeer as there are several charities that are close to my heart. First and foremost I would choose the Alzheimers Associartion as my father is a sufferer…we really need to find the cure to this horrendous condition. Second would be The Macmillan Cancer Support as they have been outstanding with their constant support and help from the day my daughter was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Thirdly I would support the RNIB who are so supportive and have truly helped me deal with my failing sight and prepare for the future as my sight deteriorates
Out of the 3 in the running, I’d donate to Wateraid. We’re so lucky here to have fresh, clean water whereas for many, it is a daily struggle. It’s a basic need that everyone should have access to!
The chosen charities are all deserving but I would have to pick RNLI for the donation. We choose to donate to reasearch into Alzheimers / Dementia as it is affecting so many people.
I would donate to RNLI as I feel that they do valuable work helping people in trouble and they sometimes get overlooked!
I would donate to rspca they do a fabulous job taking care of the animals all times of the day n night x
I’d support WaterAid as water is such a basic need.
the british heart foundation as my mum had a transplant
Of those three it would be the RNLI – their volunteers do a heroic job.
Cancer research as they do such great work. After losing my mum to cancer I have realised how much more money needs to be spent on research to beat this disease once and for all.
Tommy’s Charity (Pregnancy research and Premature babies) All my babies were premature and I lost two of them due to being born to early x
RNLI – as they are volunteers who risk their lives for others
I’d donate to Stray Aid, we got our rescue Lurcher from them
I would donate to Sense Scotland
I’d support WaterAid. Thanx for a great comptition x
Cancer research, I seem to know a lot of people battling cancer at the moment and I think it is such a cruel disease that we need to get wiped out ASAP!!
Cat’s Protection because I’m a cat lover who has rescued 15 cats
nspca love animals xx
Meningitis UK i know the devastating effect this can have on a family after my niece lost her fight against meningitis the day before her first birthday. x
Unicef
I would donate to STEPS who offer support for people with lower limb deficiency. My daughter has clubfoot so it’s a cause close to my heart.
It would be my FROGS (Friends of Greyfriars). It’s the school my son goes to and they are in desperate need for playground equipment.
I donate to the JST – an organisation that ENABLES so many to partake in wonderful trips and holidays on board their tall ships. I also donate to Breast Cancer every year as opposed to sending cards at christmas 🙂
Whole Planet
Macmillan Cancer as without them i would have been lost x
Cydogs- that’s the charity i brought my two little rescue dogs back from
Thanks for all your comments, we’re so proud to support such good causes.
Please take 2 clicks to vote for your preferred charity at http://www.piggybankwine.com – Every vote makes a difference!
All three are worthy charities, but I would donate to WaterAid. There is a huge percentage of the world population that don’t have access to water like we do.
Meningitis UK as I know someone who suffered badly from this.
Cancer research – it affects everyone in one way or another
bliss!!!!
Out of the three listed,I would donate to the RNLI – they do so much to ensure the safety of those in and on the water.
The RNLI. It’s a hard choice and no real preference so did ‘close my eyes and point’ and that’s the outcome!
Breast Cancer UK as it effects so many people
I would donate to Wateraid! It’s easy to take for granted having a tap in your kitchen/ bathroom. Take that away and imagine your life!
MIND – personal affinity.
Macmillan nurses as they do such a fantastic job.
Wateraid for me, as it seems like the biggest mountain to climb, but the RNLI are fantastic too.
RNLI as they don’t get enough credit for the fab job that they do!!
I’d donate to the Salvation Army to help those in need and also it has a personal connection for me.
The British Heart Foundation – I work there as a volunteer.
Sorry.Mis-read the question.I would choose Wateraid as this cause alleviates so much suffering and misery.
Lions Clubs International Foundation – ALL 100% donated is used in all sorts of ways to improve the lives of the less well off wherever they may be in the world and to provide real assistance following the likes of earthquates, tsunamis, etc.
Of the three given I would support WaterAid. We take clean water for granted here and have clean water can help combat diseases
Of the three you have mentioned it would be the Meningitisuk as I had meningitis when I was young and luckily had a full recovery but lots don’t.
Of the three above I would choose MeningitisUk because it’s an illness that wreaks havoc some lives
Shelter to help the homeless
Macmillan Cancer Support! They do a fantastic Job.
Wateraid
RNLI – a brave bunch if ever there was one.
That’s a tough one as I’d want the money to be split between Wateraid and the RNLI. Living here in Cornwall, you can’t fail to support the amazing and brave work the RNLI do, but I also feel that access to clean water is crucial.
there are so many deserving charities but i would probably go with the nspcc.
sorry, i didnt read it properly either. i would go with wateraid
Out of the three above I’d donate to the Meningitis Trust. But given free choice it would be British Heart Foundation.
Macmillon Nurses for the great work done for cancer sufferers
Dohhh!… Out of the three charities i would go with wateraid
For me it would have to be Meningitis UK
I would donate to authorsforphilippines 🙂
RNLI because I just think its an amazing cause!
Wateraid would be my chosed charity.
Wateraid if I knew how to apply!
What is a widget? Sorry, not so hot on social media at my age. Email and blogs are enough, but it does excude a whole bunch of us when the instructions are so vague as to how to apply.
Perhaps someone can help?
Just click in the rafflecopter and say you have left a comment! I have also posted some useful videos, in the instructions, to help people who have never entered this way before! Karen
RNLI – as they are amazingly brave and incredibly I believe they volunteer!
The Big Issue as some people need a break to get back into the mainstream
…but of those listed then the RNLI as they put their lives on the line every time they go out
yorkshire cat rescue because i love cats.
Sheffield Children’s Hospital because they do some fantastic work for kids all over Yorkshire.
I would donate to the RNLI as I live in a fishing town and see the amazing work they do almost daily!
I’d donate to the RNLI – the volunteers risk their lives to save others
RNLI,I can’t swim but I do enjoy being out on the water, you never know I may need them someday!
Water Aid as everyone deserves fresh water
Wateraid because clean, fresh water is a basic human requirement.
i would donate to the BHF, errrm because they are a charity close to my heart [no pun intended]
I think I’d choose water aid as it would seem to help the most widely
RNLI – as my family might need them one day as we live very near the coast.
Air Ambulance – They do a fab job and they saved my granddads life when he had a heart attach in the middle of nowhere and they where the only ones who could get to him.
out of the 3 charities mentioned I would choose Wateraid as it should be a basic human requirement for clean safe drinking water
Meningitis UK as its a charity close to my heart. x
i donate to DEC to help disaster stricken areas through out the world
Wateraid. They provide THE most basic thing that people around the globe need help with.
RNLI , they do a fantastic job with little funding.
Blind Aid because my daughter is blind
WaterAid would be my choice, providing clean water really does fit the “prevention is better than cure” message in terms of other diseases that many agencies have to tackle

RNLI, they put their lives on the line to save others.
I would donate to cancer research because my mum has just recovered from cancer and it would be good to give something back
NSPCC but out of the 3 it would be RNLI, I always visit their places at the coast and buy souvenirs etc to fund their good work.
I’d choose Water Aid, such a basic need

SANDS as its close to my heart
Any one of the Ambulance Services as they do a fantastic job and so many of us take it for granted.
McMillans, without those my Mother would not be here.
Cancer Research – I am determined that one day in the future humans will beat cancer, it means so much to not only my family but so many many people across the world
This is something to close my heart; I am currently supporting a little boy; #HelpNoahWalk Noah has Cerebral Palsy, he needs fundraising to fly to American for a potential life changing operation. He lives close to me, he attends the same school as my sons. I have been doing my bit to raise awareness for him and I will be hosting an online raffle for him. I know it is not a huge charity, I always show support for main global charities every year however I would love to see him walk. Sorry for my massive comment but you did ask.
Make-A-Wish Foundation as they make seriously ill children’s wishes come true.
Of those 3, Water Aid, it’s so basic, we are lucky to have clean water here.
The Air Ambulance
Red Cross for the work they are doing in Syria and in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan
Macmillan because of cancer in the family
the british lung foundation, I have a history of lung problems so I would mean the most to me
nspcc or any childrens based charity. Makes me feel sick when people donate to cat and dog charities when there are children in poverty.
Of the 3 mentioned it would be Meningitis UK, if it were my own choice of charity I would choose MacMillan Cancer Support charity as I have seen what they do for people suffering from cancer and their work is fantastic.
I’d donate to water aid
All worthy causes but would go with Water Aid if pressed to pick one.
Of those, Wateraid, the most precious gift
Meningitis UK
I do donate to Guide Dogs for the Blind and pay a monthly direct debit
RNLI because of the very dangerous job the lifeboat crews have to do.
Chase based in Guildford its a small charity that helps children that aren’t very well

Wateraid.
My charity of choice is Mind. I have battled depression for almost 17 years but much work is needed to be done to eliminate the stigma attached to mental illness.
Out of the three I would choose the R.N.L.I because day and night, calm, storm or freezing they risk life and limb to rescue and desperately need all the funds they can get.
MacMillan nurses. They helped my father enormously in his final months

The British Heart Foundation
Macmillan – because they offer support when people need it most
WaterAid because their work makes such a huge difference to so many people’s lives every day.

I donate to Tenovus which is a local Welsh cancer charity
I would like to donate to the British Heart Foundation as heart disease is one of the biggest killers in the UK
My local Hospice
Age UK – It’s just a charity that is close to my heart
British Heart foundation. Our family has so much history with Heart Disease….my Dad died at 48 and my husband had a heart attack at 41 but luckily survived after a quadruple bypass. Neither were over weight and both were out of the blue. Research needs to continue into this illness that is still the UK`s largest killer.
For me it would be Meningitis UK- they do so much good work and raise lots of awareness with very little funding.
Mind – they do great work and as someone who has suffered with mental health problems personally and also dealt with them when family members have had mental health problems I can say there is still an awful lot of stigma out there, Mind do a great job of trying to educate people about mental health and are a great support to those suffering and their family members.
