About the Tours:

The gastrotour is a great way to discover the unique flavours of London’s culinary hotspots, and you’ll uncover fascinating hidden gems as you are guided through the capital by food author and TV chef Celia Brooks. You will be able to choose one of the following tours:

Covent Garden
Celia will greet you at Covent Garden tube station with a sumptuous Ladurée macaroon to kick off a morning of sipping and supping the delights of the Covent Garden area. Celia will escort you through the tourist mayhem to uncover the neighbourhood’s true foodie gems, including British cheeses, The Slow Food Taste Space, and a tasting tour of the Real Food Market stalls in the Piazza. Here you’ll discover exotic foods like Venezuelan arepas, Polish sausages, Bombay Beach style snacks and more, all peppered with stories about the neighbourhood’s fascinating history. A unique Italian wine tasting with wild-foraged “ciccette” (Italian tapas) completes this varied and colourful foodie experience in the heart of London’s West End.

Portobello Road
Portobello Road is known as one of the funkiest street markets in London, but few are aware of the inspiring culinary secrets peppered throughout this famous neighbourhood. As a former Notting Hill resident, Celia is armed with all the local foodie knowledge and lets you in on the scene of fabulous food shops and restaurants, introducing you to some trendy as well as eclectic destinations. You’ll taste your way around the area, including tapas, fine hams, cheeses and olives, and samples from artisan market stalls. You’ll unearth culinary treasures like Moroccan pastries, exotic spices, and enjoying a cheese and wine-matching experience at the best local vintner. The day concludes with a special tasting and demonstration in the kitchen of a unique chocolate boutique.

    To be honest I would enjoy either – whenever i’m in London I do my own foodie tours – I think the covent garden tour as thats the area out of the 2 I don’t know so well.
