Cook Blog Share Week 21 – Summer Berries: Join in with all your summer berry recipes, or any other seasonal recipes you want to share! Welcome to week 21 of #CookBlogShare, and can I just say, WOW, isn’t the year just starting to whizz by now?! It seemed liked January had about 150 days, but all of a sudden the months are flying by and we are already nearly at the end of May.
Today’s theme is BERRIES. And, I have found some lovely berry recipes over on Melissa’s Cook Blog Share linky party last week. If you want to pop over to see all of the wonderful recipes that were added, here’s the link here: VEGETARIAN MEALS FOR BEGINNERS – RECIPE COLLECTION: COOKBLOGSHARE WEEK #20 A BIG THANK YOU to Melissa for hosting week 20 of Cook Blog Share.
So, before I share my favourite four berry recipes from last week’s linky, let me just say, that despite the weather, I am looking forward to seeing ALL of your seasonal recipes this week, whether they be berries or BBQ recipes, they are all welcome here.
The Inlinkz linky is at the end of this post, with all the instructions how to join in. For all my UK readers, have a WONDERFUL bank holiday weekend, and let’s hope the sun finally puts in an appearance! Bye for now, Karen
Cook Blog Share Week 21 – Summer Berries
Here are my four favourite berry recipes from week 20’s link up…….
Kate says….”Traditionally, Jam Drops are filled with raspberry jam. But with so many options, sometimes tradition is worth a wide curve. The ones featured here were made with my easy home-made Rhubarb Strawberry Jam with Cointreau. And boy, were they good. The sweet crunchiness of the biscuit was perfectly offset by the slightly marmalade-bitter fruitiness of the jam”
Cat says…..”There are few cakes that I think of being quite so British than a Strawberries & Fresh Cream Cake. In basic terms, it is a classic Victoria Sandwich cake filled with fresh whipped cream and delicious strawberries. Such a simple cake but completely delicious. The softly whipped cream and juicy strawberries are the perfect combination sandwiched between fluffy, vanilla flavoured sponges”
Clare says…..”I’m a massive believer in eating seasonal food, you know at then precise time we are supposed to eat that thing, whether it be fruit or veg! Interestingly it’s also when, more often, those products are at the lowest price, I believe English strawberries encapsulate the British summer time. It also reminds me very much of Wimbledon and strawberry everything. So here’s the perfect strawberry summer dessert!
Marita says…..”I always loved German fruit cakes, because they tend to be full of freshness but not too sweet. This makes them so refreshing. This simple strawberry traybake recipe is no exception. It is one of the first recipes that springs to my mind when we are getting close to strawberry season in Germany”
