An easy to assemble and bake breakfast, brunch or light luncheon dish - these "Sliders" are made in under half an hour, but can also be pre-made and stored in the fridge overnight for a quick family breakfast the next day. Use any fillings that suit, although ham and cheese is a classic combination. Recipe inspiration: Lynsey Lou's Making Your Days Delicious blog
Ingredients
- 6 white baps, soft bread rolls
- 6 slices ham
- 6 slices Swiss cheese, I used Gruyere
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon English mustard
- 50g unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon English mustard powder
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Directions
Step 1 | Pre-heat the oven to 180C/250F/Gas mark 4. |
Step 2 | Split the rolls in half and mix the mayonnaise and mustard together. Spread some of the mayonnaise mixture on both halves of all the bread rolls and make sandwiches by adding the ham and the cheese. |
Step 3 | Pack the filled bread rolls into an oven-proof dish. |
Step 4 | Mix the melted butter with the mustard powder, Worcestershire sauce and the poppy seeds and pour or spoon it over the top of the bread rolls in the dish. |
Step 5 | At this stage the rolls can be kept in the fridge overnight, but I baked mine straight away. |
Step 6 | Bake them in the pre-heated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the tops are golden brown. |
Step 7 | Serve straight away with pickles, chutney, extra mustard and salad leaves. |
