A delectable, spicy twist on the usual buttered popcorn, this popcorn packs a punch with its chilli and paprika butter coating whilst the bacon adds a subtle smokiness. Can be made in a conventional microwave as well as a mulitcooker.
Ingredients
- 100g salted butter (melted)
- 1 fresh red chilli, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika, pimenton
- 200g smoked lardons
- 2 tablespoon rapeseed oil
- 100g popcorn
Note
A delectable, spicy twist on the usual buttered popcorn, this popcorn packs a punch with its chilli and paprika butter coating whilst the bacon adds a subtle smokiness. Can be made in a conventional microwave as well as a mulitcooker.
Directions
Step 1 | To make the popcorn in a multicooker: fry the bacon lardons intil crisp - set to one side. Add all the ingredients into the bowl of the multicooker, mix well and close the lid and set the cooking cycle for Quick Cook at 160C. Cook for the 10 to 15 minutes or until the popcorn stops popping, then carefully open the multicooker lid. |
Step 2 | Mix the popcorn and then add the fried bacon lardons and mix again. Serve straight away in small individual bowls. |
Step 3 | To make the popcorn in the microwave: Fry the bacon lardons as before and set aside. Place the butter, oils, chilli and paprika into a large (microwaveable) bowl with a lid, and microwave until melted - about 2 minutes. |
Step 4 | Add the popcorn to the spiced butter/oil mix and cook on high for 4 to 5 minutes or until the popcorn stops popping. Add the bacon lardons and mix well before serving like above. |
